In 2001, after several years working as a licensed plumber for local companies, John Proctor launched Ridgefield Plumbing & Heating and has never looked back.

More than two decades later, he is proud to have “built Ridgefield Plumbing & Heating from scratch” based on his core values:

The company has grown from a handful of customers to the thriving business it is today with more than 3,000 repeat clients throughout its service area. 

It was a priority for John to hire a team of experienced technicians who were not only skilled and meticulous in their work but also exceptional at communicating with clients. It was also a priority for him to foster employee retention and have a tight-knit team who would work well together. Most of the plumbing and heating specialists he hired in 2001 are still with him today.

“I wanted to work with professionals who share my core values and philosophy in serving our customers,” he says. “Building trust and strong relationships is as important as the talent and experience it takes to deliver the right solution for every call we get. Whether it’s repairing leaking pipes in an older house or installing a new heating system for a large-scale remodeling project, we care about our customers and put 100 percent into everything we do.”

He is quick to point out that while his team is nimble when it comes to embracing new technologies, they also know how to work with older infrastructure. “New technology comes on the market every year, and although it’s important to stay up to date on the latest advancements, you also need professionals who have the depth of experience to serve the earlier systems that are still found in many of today’s homes and businesses.”

Commitment to Community

From local schools to veterans organizations, John and his team are involved in sponsoring events and giving to the community throughout the year. “We appreciate the business from the towns we serve and believe it’s important to give back when and where we can,” he says.
